New! 2018 CFA Membership Info

Dear CFA members and Friends of Cornell Football,

The CFA Board of Directors is pleased to announce our new membership levels going into effect for 2018. As we all know, current levels have served the association well over time, but it has been many years since we have made any changes. We have a strong commitment to enhancing the player experience at Cornell as well as investing heavily in the tailgate experience at Schoellkopf for the membership on game day. We are also committed to reconnecting with older alumni as well as building the pipeline for recent alumni to get involved in the CFA immediately after leaving Cornell. In view of our current agenda, a restructuring of the membership levels was in order. The Membership Committee was tasked with developing different levels so that everyone, former players, parents, and friends of Cornell football, can all select from levels that provide not only value through enhanced benefits, but affordability and long-term funding for the many goals of the CFA. The new levels are:

CFA Membership Levels 2018

January 1st to December 31st
(Available December 1st)

GOAL

The goal is to use the new membership levels to attract new members and to retain current members while increasing revenue. The current levels are too similar, do not provide the intended benefit, and do not have higher priced levels to encourage larger donations. Memberships are available not only to football players, but also to the Ithaca Community, Friends of Cornell, Non-Football Alums and Parents of Players Current and Past. All CFA Life-Time memberships will continue with an emphasis on voluntary donations.

As you can see, there are levels for everyone with varying levels of enhanced benefits. Lifetime Memberships will continue to be honored and we ask that Lifetime Members consider a small gift to the CFA if they feel so inclined. Either way, Lifetime Members will continue to be recognized. All former players, excluding those that are “Young Alumni” are encouraged to join at the “Big Red” level or higher. Certain levels will have Cornell Football branded gifts included; however, there will be an option to “pass” on the gift at the discretion of the member during the registration process. The new levels will be in effect from 2018 and will be available effective December 1st, 2017 as people may want to join for tax purposes in advance of January 1st, 2018.

In closing, I’d like to thank the Membership Committee headed up by CFA Vice Chairman Tony Baker ‘85, and his members, Luke Hagy ’16, Dan Leonard ‘79 and Cherise Coles (Parent Rep) for their hard work and persistence in developing the framework for membership while ensuring future security for the goals of the CFA.

GO BIG RED !!!
