Chairman’s Corner

October 2015 | Phil Ratner ‘66

phil_ratnerOur friend Phil Ratner ’66 passed away peacefully late yesterday afternoon (10/26) at his home in Laguna. To quote one of his friends, “Phil left a giant footprint on the world”, and will be sorely missed by his family, friends and the people he touched in the industry he loved.

Phil was a pillar in the Cornell Football family. He was one of the team’s most loyal supporters. He graduated in `66, received his MBA in `71 and made a gift to the Big Red every year since 1977. He was a ‘hotelie’ and a giant in the restaurant industry. He will be sorely missed.

There is no information on specific arrangements at this time; further information will be available on a service or celebration of life at the appropriate time.

Our sincere thoughts, prayers, and condolences go out from the football family to his wife, Dena, and children; Corey, Ashley `06, and Chad. Please keep them in your thoughts as they work through this difficult time.

With Deepest Sympathy,
